OUR SHORT STORY

In 2014, The Foundation extended its services to include cardiac health issues with the MAA Medicare Heart Charity Fund. The fund functions as a platform to improve health through disease prevention, life-saving cardiac screening, and diagnosis and quality treatment modalities.

The mortality rates of coronary heart disease among Malaysians have increased every year while the Department of Statistics Malaysia records ischaemic heart diseases as the major cause of death. Furthermore, long waiting lists for treatment at public hospitals and the exorbitantly high prices of private hospitals for immediate treatment, have intensified this "Cardiac Patient's Dilemma”.

With the need to address this pressing issue, MAA Medicare Charitable Cardiac Diagnostic Centre was set up to provide high-quality cardiac treatment at affordable prices for underprivileged Malaysians.

Operational since September 2018, it is the FIRST charitable cardiac diagnostic centre in Malaysia.

A team of 6 consultant cardiologists along with 10 medical and support staff are committed to take on the role to fight heart disease, stroke, and premature sudden cardiac death, by providing quality care and comprehensive cardiac and vascular services.
